Course Overview & The Score Card

 

Duntryleague Golf Course is a Championship 18 hole layout measuring 5976 metres from the back markers. If you think that a monster course needs to be well over 6000 metres then you will be in for a surprise. This course has a demonic side that can strip away your confidence at a moments notice.

 

The beautiful African Couch fairways are generous in width, encouraging you to pull the driver out and smash it long, but be warned, trouble awaits! Sloping fairways, tight doglegs and fairway cross bunkers could see even the only slightly errant drive finish out of position. Approach shots into the Bent grass greens need to be accurate otherwise you may find yourself with a putt that is, to quote a legendary Australian player and commentator, "like putting off the roof of a Volkswagen beetle and trying to get it to stop before it hits the ground". Have we mentioned the trees yet? Cleverly constructed plantings have resulted in large trees with overhanging branches situated in the inside corners of the doglegs, and on some tees forcing the player to seriously question his or her club choice. The rewards are there if you can get around or over the trees but if you don't, dropped shots are the most likely result. In short, Duntryleague is a course for all players.
